How Much Time Do I Need to Block out for an Air Duct Cleaning?

You’re looking at your calendar, trying to figure out when to schedule your air duct cleaning. Wondering if this is a “quick appointment” or a “clear your whole day” situation.

Fair question. Between pickups and drop-offs for school, sports and playdates, you have a lot going on.

Here’s the deal: every system is different and has different levels of buildup. But we can give you a range based on what we typically experience.

So, here’s the range: 2-4 hours.

Let’s Dig into Why it’s a Range

We gave you a preview of things that affect the time it takes, but here’s a more complete list:

  • The size of your home. How much ductwork is there to clean?
  • How many vents and returns are connected to your ducts?
  • How much buildup is inside your ductwork. If it’s been a bit longer since your ducts have been cleaned, there will likely be more buildup to get cleaned out.
  • How accessible everything is. Some duct systems are more complex than others, but we have the tools and experience to reach the tough spots.
All of these things will come together to influence how long our deep clean will take.

What That Time Actually Looks Like

Now let’s talk about what we’re actually doing in your ducts.

This isn’t a quick vacuum-and-go situation. Our deep clean means high-powered, truck-mounted equipment is being used to extract dust, dirt and debris from your system. Negative air pressure (yay science!) is what pulls debris out, instead of just loosening it.

As we clean vent by vent, all of it gets pulled out into our giant waste “cotton swabs”. Yes, I said cotton swabs. You’ll understand when you see the truck.

Regardless: nothing is left behind to keep circulating.

Basically, You Actually Want This to Take a While

It’s methodical. It takes time. And if you’ve ever seen those “whole house air duct cleaning for $99” offers… there's a reason why they're in and out of your home so quickly.

A true deep clean takes time, the right equipment and a vent-by-vent approach. Not a quick pass and a receipt.

When we’re done, your system isn’t just “kind of cleaner.” It’s actually clean.

And the good news is you can put your feet up while we do it.

In the end, your air will feel noticeably cleaner and fresher.
